Hello girls, today we talk about Bareminerals complexion rescue review. This novelty, released last April by the brand, immediately buzzed at the Beauty Addict.I tried to resist it, but my foundation All Day Bright Weightless by Nars being too covering to support the strong heat I ended up giving way (I’m too weak!).
I must admit, this is my first purchase at BareMinerals! I have often been tempted by some of their products but, go find out why, I never bought! We see that the brand is clearly positioned as a brand combining make-up and care at a time. It is in the same lineage that the hydrating gel cream Complexion Rescue. Nothing but the name tells us that it is both a tinted creams but also a moisturizer with SPF30 sunscreen!
Bareminerals Complexion Rescue Review.
As you understand, it’s not a foundation, that’s why I chose this product. When it is very hot, at the limit of the heat wave as at this moment, my skin suffocates a little and supports less and less the foundation, too covering. It is for this reason that every summer, I buy myself a cream bb. I used to use the bb cream for the mixed skins to fat of Garnier but I like to test new products 😉
First of all we will state the promises of the brand on this product:
In terms of care:
- – Powerful and nourishing formula
- – Extremely moisturizing
- – Refreshing healthy complexion
- – Marine extracts to promote the hydration and regeneration of very dry skin
- – Mineral electrolytes to energize the skin
- – Antioxidant to help the skin to fight against external aggression
- – SPF30 without chemicals
- – Clinically tested under dermatological control
- – Hypoallergenic
- – Oil and perfume free
In terms of makeup:
- – Naturally radiant colors
- – Tinted light gel cream
- – Light to medium coverage
- – Halfway between creams BB, cream CC and tinted cream
As you can see this tinted cream is more care than makeup! I honestly did not choose it for all these reasons. I bought it for its light formula, its SPF30 and its value for money 28 € the 35 ml. (one is far from the 40 € of my dear foundation Nars!).
Complexion Rescue gel is available in 10 shades at the Bare Minerals site and only 5 are available on the Sphere website. I did not select my hue; it is a counselor Sephora who chose it for me. So I have number 05 NATURAL.Actually this tint is slightly darker than my current complexion but as it spreads out rather well, it finally adapts to that of my face. Only if I want to apply a second coat for more coverage, this is not possible unfortunately because the difference in color begins to see! I regret, therefore, that I have not turned to the color below.
Place on test!
Bare Minerals recommends finger application. I prefer a brush application and to be done I chose the brush dyed Sephora n ° 45 (after seeing all the videos of Cyrielle, I’m sure you see what brush I speak to you since it is the one she uses all the time to apply her foundation! I want to confirm that this brush is really at the top!).
In short, parenthesis apart, we will talk about the texture that is quite amazing, it does not resemble anything I have in my possession. The brand has also clarified its texture of “gel cream”. We are not at all in a product of type foundation or bb cream, that’s on! It is like a cream but more compact, I tilt my hand when swatches, the product do not sink. And frankly it’s quite nice.
Application and Rendering
The gel then melts fairly quickly on the skin and I do not find that it leaves a particular finish. On the other hand we see well before / after a difference. Certainly it is not really obvious since the coverage is much lighter than a traditional foundation. But it is nevertheless seen that my complexion is unified without being uniform. You always see my freckles and dark circles but the whole looks more “beautiful”.
The rendering is very very natural but to go to the beach or to stroll it is ample enough. Moreover its SPF30 is particularly useful to me with the sun that knocks at the moment!
Verdict
And overall I’m pretty satisfied, it holds very well throughout the day despite the heat wave. Indeed it is much more moisturizing than a classic complexion and my skin looks more beautiful right now. I guess it’s thanks to him because I have not changed anything else in my dyed routine since I bought it!
However, I would not buy it for several reasons:
- – I must add my Naked concealer from Urban Decay because the product does not sufficiently camouflage my rings.
- – Because of my oily skin, I must also add a layer of mattifying powder in addition, because after an hour I shine a thousand lights!
Frankly in the summer, it bothers me more than anything else to add layers of product on my sweaty skin; it’s really all I’m trying to avoid. So I think more oriented on the mineral powder foundation Matte SPF15, still from BareMinerals which seems matifiant and more covering than the Complexion Rescue. Cyrielle uses it moreover in his tutorial “idea of makeup easy and fast for the summer” and it is his video that ended up convincing me!

If you have very little imperfections with dry, normal or mixed skin I think this product will be perfect for you because it allows unifying the skin in an extremely natural way while magnifying it. On the other hand for girls with oily skin or with a lot of imperfections I advise against the Complexion Rescue.
It is perfect to have a semblance of makeup at the beach but not in all circumstances for me!
