Pedicure At Home Step By Step
Pedicure is a simple, systematic, methodical process, which helps to keep the feet in optimum condition. Just as performance of a dish requires different ingredients, pedicure requires certain basic instruments for implementation. If all the apparatus is available at home, then women can manage it even without having to visit a salon.
List of instruments required:-
Cannon Coal [vs] Hop Blf: This is a simple mnemonic to remember. The vast array of articles required in pedicure
C: Cuticle Cutter
N: Nail Cutter
N: Nail Filer
O: Oblong Stick [Length Greater Than Breadth]
N: Nail Brush
C: Cuticle Pusher
A: Antiseptic lotion
L: Liquid Soap
HO: Hydrogen Peroxide
P: Pumice Stone
B: Bowl Or Basin Containing Water
L: Luke Warm Water
F: Foot Scrapper
Now, once the weapons are in place, the beautification process can begin. It is not that difficult. First and foremost, all instruments to be utilized in this process have to be properly washed and kept neat and clean. The entire process can be divided into three basic steps:
Pedicure: Steps Involved
This refers to the process carried before the foot is kept in the basin containing Luke warm water. Two ingredients are required here: acetone and cotton. A cotton swab soaked in acetone is used to take off the remnants of the old nail polish. Then, the nails are subjected to trimming and if required adequate filing.
Now prepare a water bath containing a combination of Luke warm water, hydrogen peroxide, shampoo or soap and any fragrant scent. Just take care that the person undergoing pedicure does not have any skin allergy to any of the agents used in this process. After confirming this, soak your feet in the water for 5-10 minutes. This should be followed by cleaning the foot with a nail brush and pumice stone [if you have one]. If there are any rough areas on the foot, take the help of foot scrapper to remove them. Once it’s done, slowly lift your legs away from the water bath. And this brings us to step three.
Once both the feet are out, dry them with the help of a clean towel. You will see that at this stage the feet will appear much smoother than before. Now the base of the feet has to be treated with a soft lotion [moisturizing agent]. If any rough areas are encountered then a cuticle cutter can be used. The oblong stick can be used to fasten the process of lotion application. Once the feet have dried, give a gentle massage in a rotational motion with proper pressure. Having knowledge of the pressure points as in acupressure will be an added advantage.
Once you’re done with all the three basic steps, you could now proceed towards application of nail polish. The only draw back to perform these procedures at home is that some of the instruments involved are very costly. Nevertheless women still find it more favorable to perform their own pedicure. Whatever may be the case, women all over the world should be applauded for the fact that they work equally hard as their male counter parts and manage to keep themselves so beautiful and charming!
