Introduction:

Rashid Latif Medical Complex Lahore is a medical college and Teaching Hospital named after Prof Rashid Latif Khan, who is the sitting chairman executive committee of RLMC. The college is a newly built Medical College resulted in a collaboration of Pakistani Professors and Doctors in need of a high quality medical, educational institute for the students of Pakistan. The medical complex has two affiliate hospitals; it has a group of top-notch medical professors and lecturers and a conductive learning environment for students with a limited number of scholarships from the College trust and government. The campus has fully equipped laboratories for Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses and recognised by Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC) in affiliation with the University of Health Sciences (UHS).

Rashid Latif Medical Complex is situated at Ferozepur Road; a few minutes drive from GT Main Road and Lahore Main City. It is few minutes’ drive from Central Park housing society. It has covered 28 acres land leased by the government of Punjab to Rashid Latif Medical Complex and hospital. It houses cutting-edge machinery for advanced treatments, laboratories, dissection halls for operations, clinical labs, seminar hall, theatre classrooms with up to 150 students per class capacity. The medical complex provides extracurricular activities to both male and female students along with the empirical knowledge from best teachers all over Pakistan. Rashid Latif Medical College is attached with a couple of hospitals for the sake of clinical and housejob experience of its undergraduate and postgraduate students. The Arif Memorial Teaching Hospitalis a 400-bed on-campus hospital that facilitates the patients from Lahore and Kasur. It is a primary teaching hospital of RLMC for MBBS and BDS students as well as nursing and paramedical school students. The second hospital is Hameed Latif Hospital, it is located on the Ferozepur road, and it serves as a teaching hospital for the postgraduate students of RLMC. The latter one is an advanced hospital approved by Physicians & Surgeons of Pakistan as an educational institute in fields of Gynaecology & Obstetrics and Neonatology & Anesthesiology departments.

Admissions in Rashid Latif Medical College Lahore:

Admissions are open once the results of BISE are dispatched all over Pakistan, it takes two months after the intermediate results to the commencement of classes. The admission procedure entirely is based on merit for MBBS students. The students applying for the seat categorized into two categories; onegroup consists of Pakistani students; the other one is for green card holders or other international students. The eligibility criteria are different for both the groupings.

According to the guidelines by UHS and PMDC, all of the private medical universities must conduct and close their admission procedures before November. For international students, the previous degree must be equivalent to FSc. Pre-medical or an SAT-II score with 550 marks minimum along with science subjects Physics, Chemistry, and Biology are accepted for admission.

The marks distribution for admission as per the rules of HEC, and PMDC are:

 10% Matric marks
 40% FSc. Marks
 50% Entrance test marks

For Allied Health Science, the eligibility criteria aresmall as compared to the MBBS students. Rashid Latif Institute of Allied Health Sciences accepts students with 50% minimum marks in their FSc. Examination for Physical Therapy department. The criteria for science subjects and B.Sc. (Hons) are 60%. The names of passed students and merit lists are uploaded once the interviews are held at the end of October on the official website of RLMC. The successful candidates must submit their fees before the last date or otherwise the seat must be awarded to the waiting candidates.

Scholarships:

Rashid Latif Medical College provides limited scholarship on need-based and academics. A small quota is provided to the students of less developed areas of Pakistan and AJK, FATA, and some parts of KPK. The students applying for scholarships must submit all the required documents including domicile and form-b or CNIC copies. Interviews are held before announcing scholarships to students. The students with exceptional educational records are awarded RLMC scholarships with afullstipend paid on behalf of University. The government also offers multiple scholarships including PM fee reimbursement program, Laptop Schemes, and need-based scholarships.

Department of Anatomy & Physiology:

The department is housed in a separate building and a 100-bed operating structure with advanced machinery. More than 150 students perform their professional training in a 10,000 square feet area. CPSP and PMDC approve the labs and equipment of Rashid Latif Khan Medical College. The Physiology Department has the most talented faculty and staff; itwas established along with the medical college in 2011.

Department of Biochemistry:

One of the most practiced technologies in medical science is genetics and biochemistry; bothare taught in the biochemistry department. The field is a blend of chemistry, physics, and biology. The section has advanced clinical and medicinal equipment and research staff.

Department of Pathology & Pharmacology:

Pathology Department of Rashid Latif Medical College is the busiestsection of RLMC; itcovers everything from observance to diagnosis and prescription of diseases. The department of pharmacology focuses its emphasis on research of medicinal properties and their side effects.

Department of Forensic & Community Medicines:

The forensic and community medicines department plans to develop ground-breaking research on the diseases and virus that are making their way due to modern fast food systems.

Rashid Latif Medical College in collaboration with its trustees and board of directors established its sister medical college and research centre along with the Pharmacy College in the campus. It has multiple departments.

• A 5-year Doctor of Pharmacy degree with affordable fee and scholarships (need-based and academic). The Rashid Latif College of Pharmacy is considered an isolated college with its faculty approved by PMDC and UHS.

The admissions for Allied Health are conducted separately with different eligibility criteria. The fee structure for Allied Hospital and College is slightly flat as compared to the MBBS programs offered by Rashid Latif Medical College.

Fee Structure of Rashid Latif Medical College:

The fee structure per annum for MBBS programs of RLMC strictly followed by the 2013 act of PMDC about the regulations of fees and other dues. The tuition fee as per the rules of PMDC annually is Rs. 600,000 exclusive of taxes, hostel charges, and transportation expenses for ‘B Category’ Medical Colleges. It sums up to Rs. 900,000 approximately for the first year including all the taxes and college fees.

Paramedical School:

Paramedical School run under the Rashid Latif Khan Trust. The Fsc. and Matric Students are taken into the program for a 24-month paramedical program with four technologies offered; it comprises of radiographer and imaging technology operating, operation theater technology, medical laboratory, and dispenser training. The fee structure per month is Rs. 3000 with Rs. 5000 as admission fee. The age limit for Paramedical education is 50 years.

Nursing School:

The nursing school is a revolutionary step to provide cost-effective and quality education to the talented and needy female students under a 2-year program. The admissions for nursing are conducted every year in February.
