In our youth, many pupils are crazy for medical due to its demand in modern era. Because of the excessive strength of candidates it is becoming more and more troublesome to get admission. Many medical colleges are offering medical. One of them is Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Medical College.
It is medical and dental college offering undergraduate medical opportunity to serve the humanity by gaining knowledge and training. The college is affiliated with university of Punjab Lahore. It is approved by the Pakistan medical and dental council. It is attached with Shaikh Zayed Hospital Lahore. Programs are offered in the following categories: Medical and pharmacy, MD, Doctor of medicines and MBBS.
The college was inaugurated by prime minister of Pakistan to inspire,educate and produce enthusiastic young professionals by employing problem based learning.

It is located in new Muslim town, Lahore and was established in 2009. It is a medicine and dentistry college. It was founded on the initiative of CM Shehbaz Sharif for facilitating students and giving them opportunity. The first batch got degree in 2014. It is located at area of 56 acres. It is also attached with the Sheikh Zayed Hospital Lahore.
Admission Procedure Zayed Medical College Lahore
For admission in college, candidate has to apply for UHS test. The entrance test includes subjects studied in intermediate. Prospectus and admission forms are accessible at the college admission office on payment of 1500/- . At the base of merit, selection is carried out. The admission forms are available at the UHS website. University of health sciences is an internationally recognized, student centered, research base with 71 colleges and 48,000 undergraduate and 4,000 postgraduate students registered with it. Seats are available for open merit, self-finance, and seats for disabled person, seats for under-developed areas, FATA seats, Azad jammu & Kashmir & gillgit-Baltistan and also for foreigner students.
The candidate must have passed f.sc (pre-medical) from the board of intermediate and secondary education in Pakistan. He/she should not secure less than 60% marks. And there is no minimum or maximum age limit for admission in medical college. After the declaration of entrance test result, the aggregate is calculated as follow:
Matriculation:10%
F.sc: 40%
Entrance test: 50%
In 2013, CM Shahbaz Sharif has abolished 15 % reserved seats for federal government employees. The workers of Shaikh Zayed medical complex have special seats they may apply for open merit or personal reserved seats. The candidates submit their forms as if their aggregate is above 80% otherwise they are not eligible to apply. He /she can choose order of preference for medical or dental colleges. The required documents should be attached with the form. And those are Hafiz –e- Quran 20 extra marks will be added to their f.sc result.The selection will be made on the basis of merit and availability of seats .After the selection, the candidates will be called for interview.And all the dues must be paid by the due date, after that they will not be accepted and admission will be cancelled out. Instead of all this, the candidate must have some technical standards, like observations, intelligence, good mode of communication, adorable behavior and should have conceptual and intellectual power.

In the ranking by HEC, SKBZ medical and dental college is among the 7th top colleges of Pakistan. It is offering many fields of work related to basic science department, medicine and allied department and also surgery department. Fee Structure:
First year tuition fee is Rs.400000 admission fee Rs.50000/. ID card and library facility 10,000/-And some other expenditures. Health insurance including vaccination (medical cover up to Rs.100000/= per year). Miscellaneous Rs 5,000/-. Sports and extra-curricular charges are also applied.Transport, library, magazine, student’s welfare, health insurance and electricity charges are included. For hostel residence more charges are included in fee as well.Some scholarships at basis of merit and need-base are also provided. In case of foreign students, fee structure is different.
Scholarships:
For MBBS: there are two scholarships for students each year Rs 1000/ or Rs.2000/
For B.D.S: There are two scholarships of each year same as M.B.B.S .
2: Indigent Scholarships:
For the students, whose parents or guardian have income less than 15,000 annually. And it is for the time period of 5 years as the result f academic performance. So, It plays a great role in inspiring poor students to show their abilities in their fields.
3: The Punjab Educational Endowment scholarships.
It is an initiative of Punjab government with initial money of Rs. 2 billion. It provides scholarship at the basis of merit and special quota. In the first phase, it awarded almost 5000 students from dental and medical colleges.
4: Local Bodies Scholarships:
These scholarships are given to needy and some top students from the head of the institution from the funds of Local Bodies of Punjab.
Extra-Curricular Activities:
College also arranges some extracurricular activities for encouraging the students and providing them freshness. Literary society, sports society, dramatic club, speeches, hiking, social welfare society and many other programs are held every year for the students.
Hostel Accommodation:
Hostel accommodation is provided according to the merit and the college is not bound to provide the hostel facility to every student .The rules and regulations are strictly to be followed. Seats will be allocated at the basis of merit and Quota. Separate hostels for boys and girls are present. Hostel dues includes Rs.100/- per month and utility charges are Rs.29940/- and some other charges are also included in fee.
General Rules:
Uniform: Every student must wear the prescribed uniform. Otherwise, he /she will not be allowed to attend the slot.
Attendance: The students have to attend lectures, seminars, tutorials, labs at least 75 %. Otherwise he/she will be expelled from examination.
Merit Lists: UHS 1st merit list of sheikh khalifa bin zayed Medical and dental college was published on 23nov 2013.And among them thetop merit was 88% and the lowest merit was 84%. In 2015 the medical college merit list started from 89% and the last merit was 84%. The merit is increasing rapidly with the passage of time.
All the departments of the college are flourishing and playing their role in the prosperity of the country. With the passage of time, new instrument, clinical laboratories and various improvements are made.
